GANGS IN THE CITY

[Here you go! In case you missed this on http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/ you might get a little better understanding of what we will be facing when the SHTF. This will get you to the URL of the actual story. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-barricade22feb22,0,2198361.story

These guys are just waitng until the time is right. They do not espouse any of the middle class american values that are pumped into the obedient masses in the public schools. If you want a girl you just take her and who cares? If you want to kill a rival drug dealer who cares? If the cops show up and start blasting away , you fire back. Life is simple in a gang.]

A drive-by attack followed by a wild shootout between gang members and police shut down dozens of blocks of Northeast Los Angeles for nearly six hours Thursday afternoon, stranding thousands of residents, keeping students locked in their classrooms and leaving two people dead.Veteran L.A. Police Department officials described the bizarre midday shootings -- and the widespread disruption they caused -- as highly unusual even in an area known for gang activity. It left the neighborhood littered with shell casings and its residents fearful.

FOR THE RECORD:Shootout: A headline in Friday's Section A said that two people were killed in a shootout between gang members and police in Northeast Los Angeles. The violence began when a bystander was gunned down in a drive-by attack; minutes later, a suspected gang member was killed in the shootout with LAPD officers. —

Police blamed the incident on the notorious Avenues gang, which has cast a wide shadow over districts north of downtown L.A. for decades and continues to be active despite several high-profile attempts by authorities to shut it down. The violence began around noon when a 37-year-old man police described as a bystander was shot more than a dozen times by suspected gang members as he held the hand of a 2-year-old girl. He later died. The toddler, apparently picked up by a passerby and carried to safety, was not wounded. As the gunmen drove off, witnesses told police, several pedestrians who apparently knew the victim opened fire on the car.Minutes later, police attempted to stop suspects driving in a white Nissan sedan about 10 blocks away. Three men jumped out of the car, and at least two of them fired weapons at officers.A man wielding an AK-47 rifle was killed by police as they returned fire, authorities said.Another suspect was wounded and later found hiding under a car, where he was still holding a semiautomatic handgun, law enforcement sources said. Police said he is expected to recover.

But it was a massive manhunt for the two remaining suspects that shut down dozens of streets in Cypress Park until police arrested one of the men about 5:30 p.m. The other is believed to have driven out of the area, police said.As police swept through the neighborhood, parents waited anxiously for word about their schoolchildren and other residents remained either stuck inside their homes or kept back by police barricades.

"My son is trapped over there and I can't get him," said Christine Schmidt, 37, who was inside her home near Drew Street and Avenue 32 when she heard the gunshots. Her son was one of the students locked down at Washington Irving Middle School."I want my son," she said.

During the search, SWAT team members took position and patrol deputies went door to door with dogs in a neighborhood Police Chief William J. Bratton called the "heart and soul" of the Avenues street gang, whose roots there date back more than 50 years.

As the search dragged on, Washington Irving Middle School students kept on lockdown were fed lunch, allowed bathroom breaks and kept in touch with parents by cellphone. Also locked down were Fletcher and Aragon elementary schools and Cal Charter.

An automated phone service notified parents of the lockdown status, which was not lifted until about 6:15 p.m.

Hundreds of residents gathered along sidewalks and on freeway bridges, waiting for police to allow them back into the neighborhood.

Juan Soto awoke at home to the sound of helicopters and police cars. His car was in the area blocked by police and he had no way to get to his job."My boss is not going to relieve me," said the 31-year-old.

Near the scene of the shootings Thursday, Bratton described a neighborhood terrorized in recent weeks by gang violence.

These are the people that will come pouring out of the cities when the SHTF. They will not sit in the ghettos and starve, much as we would like them to do. They know to take things by force. They will be like a hoard of locusts upon the land. Everything they can use to survive they will kill and steal to get. Is it any wonder that we tell you to get out of the cities?

The suburbs will get the full shock of these people. All homes and stores and shopping malls will be looted to the bare bones. All resistance will be killed. After that, the walk out into the countryside will begin and that is where the gangs will meet their very hard times. People out in the countryside will shoot the gangs on sight. They have to do this in order to stay alive themselves. If they don't shoot the gangs then they will give up their lives to the gangs. They will give up their food, their women, their drugs and medicines, their fuel, their water, and whatever else they have of any value.

The gang mentality is very rigid and hierarchal. You take your position in the gang and you do what it is you are supposed to do. If you don't you are dropped from the rolls and that can mean a bullet in the brain. Depending on the intelligence of the leadership, the gangs will get as far as they can before they are defeated, if all of them ARE defeated. Luck and brains are the mainstays of gang survival. If they can figure you out then they own you. If you out smart them then you live and they don't. Simple as that. There is not going to be much negotiaton with these people. The Law of the Jungle does not have much room for negotiation. I would suggest that you be far way from them and that you be in a good group with plenty of guns and ammo. If the gang has to travel a hundred miles or further from the city to get to you, you are in good shape.

And remember, you can lie and cheat these people to your hearts content. Send them a message and steer them toward an enemy of yours. Send them on a wild goose chase. Send them into an ambush. Send them to hell if you get the chance. Do not play fair. Do the dishonorable thing. Typical values will get you killed. Do not fool with them. Win at all costs. Because if you lose, your life and the lives of those you love are forfeit. Win.

Stay alive.

You seem to know little about gangs other than racist hearsay.

Steven Levitt, a noted economist, has some insight when he talks about when a PhD researcher joined a gang to find out how it was truly structured. Listen and learn.

I was a visiting nurse--the only one who'd go into a gang-infested area.

I only know from my own personal experience, but those guys (from a major, well-known and supposedly dangerous gang) protected me. I had absolutely no problems over several years. They also had assigned shifts and I wouldn't be surprised if they had timecards. They seemed to me to be regular guys working a funky job and while some seemed mean (but no problem if you were no threat or offered no disrespect), they seemed no meaner than similar guys from my own neighborhood.

Well Mountain,I do know some. Canton Oh where gangs rule the streets. Cops are a joke there.
The gangs keep a peace of sorts there. It ain't about race. Gangs come from many ethnic backgrounds. The past thirty years have bred a new gangster. And he's(she's) leaner and meaner than ever. Some folks say they can live in the cities, they'll be over run and out gunned right at the start.
The day after they will be boiling out and shaking down refugees...hitting targets of opportunity (small farms) Thus emboldened, with enuff firepower to take on a small town,,,God help you,if their scouts see your smoke.
Welcome my friend to the new dark ages. Dragon
