Just saw this on CNN.
Economists expect an already deep recession to get worse in 2009, according to a new survey. CNNMoney reports that if business conditions do worsen, they will sink from historic lows. Just 22 percent of economists believe the U.S. economy will grow this year, down from 62 percent who thought so in October.
Where do these jerks live? What is in their minds? Why are they trying to jerk me around with this bullshit? What is an economist? Is that another term for a stockbroker or a bank bail out specialist? The Main Stream Media should be promoting preparedness, not trying to drum up support for a failed economy.
The next economic bubble they are trying to create is the CLEAN TECH bubble. I read a news article that it is going to be BIG, this morning. We are all going to run out and buy $20,000 photo voltaic systems to power our homes and recharge our electric cars. Don't it just give you that warm fuzzy feeling? We are going to buy this stuff when we take a break from standing out on the corner with our WILL WORK FOR FOOD signs.
I have 60 to 80 pounds of rice and beans out freezing on my porch right now and I have more faith in those rice and beans than I do in ALL of the promises I get from the system. I need to get busy with putting up my Oats from the Amish Bulk Store in plastic pails. We will buy more this coming weekend.
Got preps? Stay alive.

I just read a piece that said solar panels don't generate enough power to justify the energy consumed in building the solar panel! HA! They are an energy "sink", rather than net producer. Go figger....
The fact is (and this coming from a former power plant operator) that to produce excess energy, something must be burned. There's no 2 ways about it at this stage in the game. Cold fusion is a pipe dream. There is no "miracle" energy source on the horizon, and all "clean tech" is 100% reliant on dirty fossil fuels for it's creation and sustenance...
American natural gas production is in decline, as demand increases. LNG is no salvation, it accounts for a paltry 5% of consumption. Plus, it is extremely inefficient due to the fact that the gas must be liquified, refrigerated during transport, then regassified upon delivery. This results in extremely poor thermal efficiency. BTUs contained in that fuel are consumed in all the processes is must go through before it's even available for combustion....
The gig is up, cheap energy is history, and the Ponzi scheme is failing. That's all there is to it. Time to face that fact and get busy preppin'! And gettin' used to candle light and wood heat....
I really would like to know why the media does not say much of anything about storing food etc - except they don't want us to be prepared so that most of us die. Evil idiots!
Ernie
LOL - praise that mayberry - we are so ready!

They don't want you prepping because they want you on your knees BEGGING for food. If you control the food you control the people. Simple as that. You do what they say, you might get fed. You disobey and you can damn well starve.
