CYCLES

Took a drive to town with the wife on a gray, wet morning. I had heard that this is the time for certain things like canned Pumpkin and Dried Fruit to be on sale. Well, it hasn't started here yet, evidently. The trip was not a flop, however, as I got a flat of White Corn Hominy, which I love, and four cans of Yams, which the wife said were a good price. They were pretty big cans and they were 4 cans for $5. I noticed that there was a couple of things in the store that said they were Kroger foods and I mentioned that to the wife. She said that she thought that Kroger had bought the local guy out. Too bad. Kroger gets too Yuppie for me. I shop a lot by price and Kroger doesn't usually have low prices. But the preps are bigger than when we started today so that is an improvement.

http://personaldisasterplanning.blogspot.com/ The prepared warrior sent me a comment and said that it was so hard to keep track of everything that is going on in this day in which we live. I couldn't agree more. Things are running along at an amazing rate.

I am pushed for time today. I have a lot of things to look at plus I have to be on Big John Lipscomb's show this evening. I enjoy Big John. I am going to enjoy his non-hybrid seed this Summer as well! I have to go to the country seat this morning and I am not too happy about playing with the bureaucrats. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

All bets are off on any economic recovery anytime soon. So far we have seen devaluation, the preppers friend, but I can't help but believe it is a short lived phenomena.

I want to tell you something here that is in opposition to scientific thought, for the most part. I want to to tell you that economics are on a cycle. And that will get your sneered at in modern circles. We are to believe that 'natural' things are on a cycle, like the yearly cycle of the earth going around the sun. But human action is always supposed to be spontaneous and original. And you can say HORSESHIT to that. All mankind is of a cyclic nature. That is the way we are to believe because that is the way the Powers That Be want us to believe, if they even know the secret themselves.

A man I knew heard a voice one day and it said to him, "All my Creation is a woman." Men have known for a long time that their woman was on a cycle but they never knew they were on one too! Well, I am here to tell you that man, as well as woman, is cyclic. Ask your wife. She knows! What I am saying here is that this economic collapse is part of a cycle and there is not much you can do about it. God set up the year of Jubilee so that every 50 years all debt was forgiven and we all started anew. But man has done away with what God ordained and man now says that stuff is all superstition. We shall see about that! Our God is pretty smart and knows what he is doing. Let pissant man strut his stuff and act like he is in control. What a joke!

Another thing that man has discarded is genetics. It is the tale of us all! But that is another post and I must go for now. Take care, prep alike crazy, and stay alive.

If you get a Kroger card then you can take advantage of their sales. There is a form to fill out but the names are not checked out. I stocked up on a peanut butter sale 18 oz for $1 in the past. Tuna was this past fall. If you don't get the paper with the store ads Kroger does do on-line ads but not always for every store. Most ads are close enough though. They don't have quite as much good stuff on the 10 for $10 dollar sales (mostly junk food) but enough to make it worth your time.

Stephanie: Try going to Sundaysaver.com. This site lists all the ads for all chain grocery stores. Each store has its icon with its weekly ads, a note pad to click for items of interest, and the list is printable. I use it for three local store chains: Publix (for BOGO), Ingles and Kroger. Most of my preps have been purchased by using these ads.
Michael: thanks for the mention.
