A COUPLE OF CALLS

I called an elderly friend in Georgia this morning. He's just a bit shy of 80 but still going strong. He now has 174 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. Sort of like a ready made clan. He talked to his banker this week and his banker told him the country was going to collapse. No question about it. And this banker knows what is going on and says it is over. But my friend has a 1000 acre farm where he raises cattle and he aims to use that to pay their land taxes. Their businesses are just about down to seeds and stems. No money left to be made. Credit has gone by the wayside and jobs are scarce because of the lack of financing on the buyer's part. In other words it is grinding to a halt. But he says they are doing everything they can and they will trust God for the rest. I have known these folks for almost 30 years and I have seen them go through rough times and good times, but this is the worst economic report I ever got form them. But they will fight and scrap for every dime they need to make it through this coming mess. The banker told my friend that he figured he had gone nuts when he bought that 1000 acre farm and all those cattle but now he sees my friend was really ahead of the curve and ahead of everyone else. And these folks in Georgia can REALLY do some gardening. They will have their garden in by the end of February and the harvest will be soon enough. They grew a lot of sugar cane last year and had their syrup made and they have a world of it. They gotta have that syrup at least one meal a day and sometimes two. Their opinion is that it is better than sugar as far as your health is concerned.

I called my cousin up in Anderson, Indiana, this afternoon and he had gotten laid off/let go from his position as an office manager for a large civil engineering firm. He set the hourly ate and billed all of the customers. He is a registered professional land surveyor and really knows his stuff. He has been in it for his entire adult life. They got rid of him with no warning and no "sorry" or anything. The company got rid of their head draftsman the same week. He is 63 years old and can retire, though he will have to make his mortgage payment. His wife still works and has a school job as a vice principal in a very popular school. They are a ways from getting kicked out on the street but things are looking a little grim around their house. They have played the game according to the rules and done what they were supposed to do and now it is being taken from them. But when I called him two years ago and told him to get ready, he told me that his company was too big to go down. TOO BIG TO FAIL is how you say that. But there to guys they let go, my cousin and the draftsman, are part of the meat of the company, not the fat or the excess. It looks like the jobs they are getting rid of now are the real jobs. The jobs that mean something to the company. Secure people are hereby warned that they are the next to go.

The good jobs seem to be the next ones to go. This ain't french fries and coleslaw, this is steak and potatoes going by the wayside. I cannot imagine how those people will take their dismissals. It is going to be rough as hell. But we have prepped and dug in and we are ready, if anyone is ready. Obama is living in some kind of dream world. He is trying to get these big programs through congress. He wants to go down as a savior to the country. Well, he is going down as an idiot who can't read a computer screen. He is going down as a left wing ideologue who can't accept that the money he wants to spend ain't there. But he entertains the fantasy. The book says "Woe unto the people when their king is a child." Well, Obama is in this childish fantasy and can't get a grip on reality. He's daft. And his staff is daft. What a bunch of morons. Try to stay alive.

What's weird is how darn quiet is seems... everyone is hoping, praying that the upturn is going to kick it. I don't even bother telling them that the hope is a mirage. What good would it do? Something is afoot, though. The idiotic "surge". The fake jobs summit. The BS level is going up as the economy and people's lives are going down.

A good movie/series recommendation for you, Michael and others: I've been renting the couple-year old TV series Jericho, about life in a small town post-collapse. A bunch of terrorist-smuggled nukes go off around the USA, isolating the town and sending them into a real collapse scenario. I have some quibbles with the series, but it's an interesting take on what would happen. I'm at the point in season one where their neighboring town attacks them to try to take their resources. The scenario made me think of some of Michael's predictions about human behavior post-collapse.

Publius:
If you dig into background on Jericho you'll find the NSA collaborated with CBS in developing the storyline and used the weekly pubic feedback to anticipate the coming crash. I won’t ruin the ending for you...when you watch the last episode you will see why CBS was forced to cancel the series…FYI the ratings for this show were climbing weekly when it was jerked.

@Dan:
You MUST be kidding me?
I had a weird feeling about it.
Some of the writing is good, some bad... it has an uneven feel, as though someone/something was trying to push buttons.
I guess I believe you.
I'll research it.
Well, all "public art" has/had an ulterior motive.
Interesting and alarming. I'm going to research this and get back to everyone...

Okay guys, I'm hooked. You find the stuff and I will read it, God willing. This is getting interesting. The guy from Ohio is throwing grenades! I love it.

Jericho was jerked because the PTB didn't want a show with real substance on the air. It showed the way to independence, and nanny.gov don't want you to know too much about that...

Michael, that's a timely piece of news... I'm off to get myself some cold weather gear before it's too late. We are witnessing the End Game, but the sheeple are too distracted to take notice. The fedgov and global elites are doing everything now, knowing the sheeple are distracted by the "holidays". They'll wake on New Year's Day to learn that their world has changed into something completely different, and then it will be "too late" for them....

I just saw this on PH:

Obama Orders 1 Million US Troops to Prepare for Civil War -- Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that US President Barack Obama has issued orders to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to “begin immediately” increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

With all that is going on I could see a Civil War hitting this country. I think that some of the people of this country will wake up and see what's going on. I don't know if they will act on what they see, but it could happen.

This comment section is getting to be better than my blog post. Keep it coming! I have already checked on the troop build up and it is out and about on the web. I just had not seen it. But if it being reported by bloggers then you know there is something to it. Screw the Main Stream Media!

Any words of wisdom for those of us relatively new to the game? If it's really crunch time, what sort of last-minute provisions do you suggest?

We are Sooooo Screwed. The remaining thread that was holding the Republc is now fraying...I just saw this which will guarantee Carbon Tax:

WASHINGTON, Dec 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency formally declared that greenhouse gases endanger human health on Monday, allowing President Barack Obama to show his commitment to act as a major climate change summit opened in Copenhagen.

The ruling by the EPA, widely expected after it issued a preliminary finding earlier this year, will allow the agency to regulate planet-warming gases even without legislation in the U.S. Congress.

Urban, they've been looking at this end run around the Constitution for a while now. Guess with "Climategate" out there (which the MSM has been doing their damndest to suppress and "debunk", including saying it was fabricated by Fox News...), they think that this is the only way to force feed us their agenda. I find it very interesting how they are pulling all this crap in December, knowing full well that most sheeple are completely preoccupied with Christmas....

EPA, the new Gustappo. Things are really getting interesting...

Want some fries with that?!

Pelosi Endorses ‘Global’ Tax on Stocks, Bonds, and other Financial Transactions

(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) endorsed the idea of a “global” tax on stock trades and other financial transactions, saying the estimated $150 billion in annual revenue from such a tax could be used to help fund more stimulus spending.

At her weekly press briefing on Thursday, Pelosi said the financial transactions tax (HR4191) currently before Congress would have to be made “global” to keep U.S. investors from taking their business overseas and out of taxable reach.

The House speaker said that a transaction tax could be imposed in conjunction with congressional efforts to divert funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), with funds from both going to fund a second stimulus spending package. (The first stimulus bill, $789-billion, was signed into law by President Barack Obama on Feb. 13, 2009.)

talk about engineers and draftsmen getting the axe, I can tell you a lot of it is this dammed computer aided drafting and the people in SE Asia, India and China killing our jobs. They take the work real cheap, and usually do a shitty job too, because they aren't used to American Standards. One company wanted some of our work. They had like 24 employees working around the clock and we figured from their price they were making about $12 dollars a week, each.
