This will not be a big post today. There just ain't a whole helluva lot going on. You can't buy huge food buys every day with my income. It's mildly raining and we can't go to the garden. The wife has it pretty much under control anyhow. So it is a laid back day. I had my normal eggs and sausage for breakfast and drank some water and I feel pretty good. Terry only took one unit of insulin last night and is planning on not taking any tonight. That is progress. He has dropped 25 pounds and 25 daily units of insulin in 5 weeks. He thinks it is time to quite the insulin. He is taking the pancreas pills right now and they seem to be doing the work.
The wife is down buying eggs and milk and stuff off of her Amish friends. They have been running low on eggs of late. I don't like that. I want my Amish eggs every morning. Good eating.
The media is full of questions about whether or not Obama is going to have another stimulus. Sure, Obama, go ahead and print up another batch of phony money and see what it gets you. You popularity figures are sinking to Bush's level as it is.
I have seen a report that says there might very well be only about 8 to 10 million people in this country who do not have medical insurance and want it. The figure of 47 million is a bunch of crap. Just another lie to jack us around.
The mainstream media is still not reporting on Israel and what they are doing in Gaza. A Fox News guy went up to the fence that surrounds the place and the Israeli's gassed him. No mention of it in the news.
There is a lot of stuff to learn in this world right now. Pick your interest and start digging. It's abundant and it has not been cut off as yet. Go for the chrome.

PREPS AND WEIGHT
I am a happy guy today . I made my food buy yesterday. Lots of canned goods put away so that the sheep may eat. And that word sheep does not mean sheeple! Quite the opposite. The people who have supported my fat, out of shape, ass will surely share in this bounty. And I am losing weight at a right smart pace and when the weather gets cool a little I will be out walking and regaining a little of my vaunted strength. I used to be a very strong man but this heart problem has hurt me in the strength and stamina area pretty bad. But the food I bought will keep me and a few others going for a long time. When the cold of Winter hits and the economy is in the cellar and there is a famine in the land, we will eat. And that is a big part of being a prepper. Yeah, you gotta have your medical and your guns and ammo up to snuff, but that food and water will keep you going so you can do what you have to do. I still have my Cranberry Beans to harvest yet. Shell outs! I'll have company at the dining room table this year and it will be a good time. Shell 'em, bag 'em and freeze 'em for a couple, three days to kill the vermin. Shove 'em in a steel garbage can and they will keep. I bought 8 canned hams today to go along with what I already had and those beans will do wonders with some ham cooked in them. We already have 2 sweet new Cayenne Peppers from the garden. I bought 36 plants and the wife might have a few down there on her own. And they are doing it! My little plant babies are producing. My kitchen-dining room will have many ristras hanging form the beams in the ceiling. Many! As they dry the woman grinds them in her little coffee grinder and makes my breakfast pepper seasoning. Breakfast just ain't right without eggs with Cayenne pepper on them. That pepper kicks our pancreas in gear and that is good for your insulin level. Think of the people who will not believe that we need to prep and you will see my advantage over them. They will be begging or stealing food and I will be eating like normal. Hopefully I can be back in shape a little bit before tings get too bad. I intend to walk my guard mount like every other man will be doing. And walking is good. It can keep you alive. I still have another food buy or two to go before I shave spent my ideal sum on food. We will get it stored somehow or another. People in the stores don't seem to pay any attention to someone stocking up these days. Kinda makes me think that there are some stealth preppers out there. And if I lived in a town like Bedford where everyone has a $70 a month sewer and water bill I wouldn't be telling anyone of my plans either. All this raising of taxes is insane! Goddamn it, we are busted! What the hell is this getting-blood-out-of-a-Turnip trip all about? The elected officials in Washington are crazy! I know they are all owned and paid for but they should know better than to tax us like they are doing, and going to do. It's not right. People should be left alone to make their way in this type of economy. Government needs to back off and leave us alone !

Ain't anyone buying and driving. We are all broke! Sure, a few still drive on their job and whatnot but the average American cannot afford to go crusing for burgers or taking driving vacations. Remember this is the country who coined the phrase STAYCATION.
Lots of talk here in the family and even in town, about the banking problems. People are buying just what they have to and I cannot tell you where they are keeping the cash. But a lot of businesses are full of clerks and managers wearing the mask of BUSINESS AS USUAL. Do the job, stock the shelves, take the money, yada, yada. yada. I think most of them are scared to death. I know there were no stares or questioning looks when Terry and I went through the check out this morning with two full shopping carts full of canned goods on flats. No one seemed to notice anything out of the usual.
I want to destroy something you have been taught since you were capable of thought and that something is that to lose weight you have to consume less calories than you burn up. That is a lie. You can sit on your ass all day long and lose weight on the Atkins Diet. You can consume calories until your gut bursts and you won't gain weight, you will lose it. You just can't have any carbohydrates. Simple as that. You test this and you will know that the diet food business is nothing more than a complete hoax. You can eat meat, fat, and all the green leafy vegetables you can hold and you will not gain any weight. But that slice of bread or that baked potato will pack it on you like crazy. I gotta go eat. Stay alive.

SOME DEFENSE
You have got to plan how you will live. And I know that plans can blow up in the wind and be gone, but you still need a base point in your thinking to get you by. You will be leading a sort of dual life style in the near future. You will have the things to do to manage yourself and your clan but you will also have to be responsible for your security. It will be a time not seen in this country for well over a 100 years. Think of it as the old West where they had banditos and outlaws and Indians that wanted to kill and loot. Your very existence will be proof that your have the sustenance to uphold life. And there will be a lot of people who want to have your food and water. And your guns and ammo. And your medical supplies. And your wives and daughters. They will come after you in the first days of the break down. The stores in the towns and cities will get looted and plundered quickly and then the attention will turn outward. "Let's go out in the country here the food is!" And you're going to get some unwelcome, uninvited guests. And they will not be courteous and nice. As a matter of fact they will be brutal and more brutal. If possible they will burn your home down. Just takes a jar of gasoline you know. So you have to work your security detail to keep them further than they can throw, at least. I'd try for a half mile or more. There are rifles and shooters that can hit things at a half mile. You should have a few of those little gems yourself. It is a bit of the old "Arms Race" but it has it's positive side also. You want to kill them before they kill you and if they show themselves to be a hostile force then start banging away. And don't forget that they have priorities too. And if they see one of their own get their head vaporized they may decide that there are better places to hit. I'm sure it will cross their minds anyhow.
But if you meet a determined foe and they re not going to run away with a little persuasion from you, then you had better be prepared to fight like hell for a long ass day. And here is where your planning comes to the fore. You have to have somewhat hardened positions for your people to shot from. At least a decent foxhole with maybe a log in front of it. And those defenders will need water and maybe even food. God forbid they need medical attention. But you sit in a position and shot it out for a day and you will be a tired and worn out soldier. The only problem is you can't call time out and go have a cold beer and some air conditioning. You foe will not approve of this for even an instant. They will insist that the fight be taken to the conclusion that they hope will be them taking all your goodies and watching you rot in the Sun. Your job will be to bring things to a reverse of this conclusion. If you have people skilled in 'advance and cover' tactics as taught by the US Army, then you can possibly attack from your position. But unless there is a great imperative to attack and win at all cost do not fool with this move. A well entrenched force with good cover, good guns, and plenty of ammo takes at least a force FOUR times as big to dislodge it. Defense is the game you want to play. You get dug in, have a good field of fire, and let 'em come. Anyone with half a brain and a good set of binoculars can be your spotter and look out. Just don't let them get splattered because the glint of light off their lenses gave them away. Very poor form. Your watcher, spotter, whatever you wish to call them, had better have some means of communicating with your guys out there exercising their shootin' irons. If the enemy makes a major shift to try and get around your defense then your defenders need to know about it quickly and be able to react in a manner that will shift your defense in a corresponding manner. Defense is the easiest game of war but it is not without some wrinkles. Don't let your position be overrun by some maneuver that you missed entirely. There may be some veteran soldiers out there who know a thing or three and they can make things mighty tough for you if you don't stay in a heads-up attitude.
Night fighting will require lights to enable you to keep track of the attackers. And unless you are fighting the absolute dumbest bunch of brigands in the world, you will not have electricity to even turn on the wall switch and fire up the farm lights. The bandits will get rid of your electricity post haste. And that is a dirty ass trick but this is warfare and you gotta be ready when you are playing against people who want to win. If you have flares and other little goodies you should make out pretty well. If you don't then you might be in trouble.
The really neat thing is to have landscaping that forms convenient places for your attacking foes to get behind and have them mined with high explosives that you can detonate from the comfort of your home. You can go out in the morning and clean up the mess. Explosives are neat if you know what you are doing. They simplify so many things. They are a little hard to come by but can be obtained with due diligence. I think most states will let you buy dynamite if you play their silly games. Just remember that dynamite can get really touchy if it allowed to sweat. Being around sweating dynamite is bad field position. Keep it cool and dry. Always.
One of the best forms of defense is to keep the criminal element away from your dwellings as much as possible. Your barns and your sheds and your gardens should be on this list also. Hungry people who have never done without before in their lives will have the attitude that they are owed a portion of your food and supplies. And if you have the guts to take exception to this thinking then you have to be prepared to keep them back. I would not be against giving some food for a family who has a woman and kids. I would give them the food and talk with them awhile. They might be great joiners to your little clan. Just remember that women and kids can be a potent decoy and you need to look behind them to see what might be coming. The criminal element will do anything that will make their job easier and more sure of success. If you have a strong position and plenty of help manning the walls, then they will use a trick or a ruse to get inside your defenses. You must remain vigilant at all times. It is the Law of the Jungle and it will apply when the SHTF. Your attackers will not be principled men, they will be cutthroats and thieves. They wish to take what you have and they will take it any way they can. How would you like to look out your window and see some scumbag holding your child in the air and calling you out to talk. Might pinch a little. Might drive your wife to hysterics. But don't ever disarm your self for these scumbags. Never show fear. Always speak with authority.
We will talk about this aspect of survival more, in the future. I think it good to present you with some of these scenarios so that you can get my mind to be more flexible in dealing with problems. There is no hard and fast rules of behavior in fighting for you life and the lives of your family and friends. You must remain fluid and be willing to use any opportunity you are given. THINGS ARE GETTING MEANER
It has been a noxious day, to say the least. I got a paper in the mail that said I would be charged $96.40 a month for medical insurance and it would be taken out of my social security. Put that up with the 'cap and trade' which I have been told will at least double my electricity bill and I am going to the poor farm pronto. I absolutely cannot afford that kind of money out of my meager income. I was told today by a man in Maryland who knows about this kind of stuff that the 'cap and trade' bill would be the biggest source of income ever handed to the US Treasury. It will bring a staggering amount of money into the federal coffers. Unbelievable. Here we are in the worst depression this country has ever seen and that Soviet Socialist Obama is going to levy the biggest tax increase in history. This cannot be! We cannot afford this in a country that has 20 to 30 percent unemployment. We have states about to go bankrupt and Obama wants our blood! It must not come about! And they have already told us that there will be no cost of living increase for social security next January. I don't know what to do. I guess I will have all of my electricity turned off. We have a new cast iron wood cook stove ordered and paid for. We can at least cook our food.
In reference to 'cap and trade' let me give you an example of what will go down. They are going to levy a carbon tax on every tire made in this country. And it will be high. Figure a minimum of $20 a tire. So some guy gets the idea to import tires and save the tax. The government then posts a carbon tariff on imported tired of $20 each. My God how the money will flow to Washington, District of Criminals. And this is just one example. How much carbons tax will go on a barrel of oil? How much on a gallon of gasoline? How much on a quart of oil for your crankcase? And it will affect your grocery bill. You don't think all those trucks that haul your food to the store will not be taxed for the carbon they produce do you? And the fertilizer that goes to make the crop bear fruit. And the carbon tax that will be levied on the mills that grind your flour. And do not forget those guys who bake your bread. All that electricity will be taxed double what it is now. And your milk and butter. Wow! does it ever warrant a goodly dose of carbon tax. On top of all the things that use oil and what not, think of the cow farts we have to pay for. And if you say that this carbon dioxide thing is a scam and you want a debate, the lefties will just tell you that it is already proven and there can be no debate. Unnecessary. Unwarranted. Just drop your trousers and lean over that log. This will only hurt for a little while. You'll get used to it.
Jim Sinclair, of the financial web page Jim Sinclair Mine Set, said for publication on Wednesday, July, 8, 2009, that there is something coming down in 121 days and I think he was talking about the American financial system. Serves the system right and proper. We have the best congress that money can buy. We are a disgrace to the other people of this planet. We have ripped and torn and looted and tortured and cheated until we are despised for it. China and Russia have now been joined by India in raising hell to get a new reserve currency. If this country is not the world reserve currency then our money is worth nothing. You got that folks? It's toilet paper. And the public is just now starting to become aware of how badly they have been screwed. Our people have a streak of degeneracy in them a mile wide. They believe anything that boob tube will tell them. And the boob tune lies and distorts everything. Our politicians and our bankers and our stocks and bond traders are all in on the game. They are milking us like ants milk aphids. I am reminded of the son of Solomon who when approached by the elders of Israel to have their tax burdens eased told them he would council with his advisers and get back to them. His advisers were a bunch of young punks who thought they ruled the world. They told the young king that he needed to RAISE the taxes. So he went back to the elders of Israel and told them that he would lash them with scorpions and that the tax would be greatly increased ! So the elders went away unsatisfied and with a fire in their guts put their by the young king. I think they killed that sonovabitch, finally. And that split Israel into two camps. But it seems to me that there is historical precedent for a young ruler who follows poor advice and wrecks the kingdom. Surely this young man Obama has the presence of mind to avoid a calamitous decision. I don't see it but maybe. I heard him give a speech where he said he favored 'cap and trade' for the country. Therefore, "Woe unto the people when their king is a child." Get ready for debtors prison, folks. But you won't be in there alone. You will have many sympathetic ears when you get in there. You won't have to walk a step to find agreement with your political beliefs.
I am a prepper and that means I have love in my heart. I love my clan and I love my family and I love this big valley that God let us live in. I write a blog telling all who will listen that it is time to get ready for hard times. And I do it because there is an element of people who have the common sense to face up to reality. And those are the people who are looking out for others the same as I am. I am not in this for a dollar or a joke. I am in it for the people who care about what is going on. I have given good advice for the last year and a half. I hope I have helped a few people along on the path to survival. I really do. It ain't easy and that is a fact. Money problems and family problems and job problems and God only know what else. But some folks are stepping up to the plate and taking their cut at the ball. I like that. I admire that, as a matter of fact. I just want to say, especially to those who read the Wednesday blog and listened to Cliff High talk for awhile, that time is running a it low at this point. This country is at a very low point and may never recover. And you folks didn't do it. The people who are supposed to be watching our backs did it! If there is one thing that will drive me to anger it is someone who treacherously uses my trust to stab me in the back. But I can tell them, though they won't believe it, that there is a God and as a man soweth, so shall he reap. Stay alive.

This country is at a very low point and may never recover. And you folks didn't do it. The people who are supposed to be watching our backs did it! If there is one thing that will drive me to anger it is someone who treacherously uses my trust to stab me in the back. But I can tell them, though they won't believe it, that there is a God and as a man soweth, so shall he reap. Stay alive.

PREDICTIONS OF THE FUTURE
Good morning! I haven't got a lot to say but I have a lot to listen to today. Cliff High of the ALTA Report has made an amazing set of videos on YouTube. There are seven of them. I hope you listen to all 7 of them and they help you understand what is happening in this world of ours. They are truly amazing in their content. The Time Machine is explained and the findings are presented to you pretty straight forward, just as you like it. Enjoy.

YOUR BASE OF OPERATIONS
My word processor ate my post for today so you may not get very much. But that is the way it happens and we must adjust. I am wanting to write about personal security and defense anyhow. We maybe leave that one alone too much.
If you live in the city you are in the wrong place. You can be burnt out of house and home with one Molotov cocktail. It is just too easy to get you when things get a little tricky outside your door. So be like me and several others and get the hell out of town. And get out a good ways, not just a mile or so past the suburbs. Get some wooded property with a field or two. The trees will afford you protection and the field will give you land to plant and grow food. And these are two very important items should things turn sour in society.
The first thing you do on your property is get some shelter for yourself and those with you. You ain't much good until you have some shelter. Everybody can use some of it, men, women, and kids. some more than others. We are not practicing to be pirates or looters but rather families and clans. You do have a Clan started don't you? If you are thinking about going it alone or as a single family you can just forget that. The same Molotov cocktail that can burn you out of the cities and the suburbs can burn you out of a countryside retreat just as easily. Your worth to society will not help you one bit if all the attackers want is your food stash and maybe your woman. And you have to understand that. These people will be traveling light and fast and they want what you have. They will be very quick about hitting you and getting your goods and some of what your wife has between her legs. And they will not be kind in their dealings. They will want your food and your guns and ammo for sure. They have to have strength to go on and guns and ammo to mount their next attack. It is a lifestyle. The way to beat it is to have 24 X 7 security guarding your place. And you can't keep watch all day and all night. You will fall asleep after awhile and that is a fact.
After you and your clan have settled in to your shelter, you must think about water. If you live with a nice clean Spring then you have a head start on life. You build your shelter close to your Spring and overlooking your proposed garden area. You put your clan in a group and not spread out all over the place so that in case of an attack you are already together. That is also a good way to have help fighting a fire. Fires can be devastating to people out on the land. A group will put it out quicker and rebuild quicker if necessary. Mighty important things to think about. You do not build so close together that if one building catches fire it ignites others.
So there you have the beginning of your survival community. You have land, shelter, water, security, and a place to grow some food. You have your anchor in the earth and a base of operations. You grow from there and you stay alive!

SHORT MONDAY
This will probably be a short post because I don't have much time before Sunday night meeting. I am getting some good help on the wood fired cook stove venture and I am most appreciative of it. I may have a good deal going for $420 delivered to my door. Bran new, cast iron, four burner stove. No oven and no door on the body to access the fire box. Should be pretty tight. I will let you all know how it turns out and all the details, if I get it.
The governments of the world, or at least OUR government, are still carrying on with great aplomb. The Vice-President admitted that Obama's newly installed government had miscalculated the severity of the economic malfunction we are presently in. I shed no tears for Joe Biden. They were elected and took office and they were not even reading the blogs, economic or survival. But they don't even want to read the blogs because the blogs say what they damn well please and most times it is not the government story that is getting told. Who wants to listen to a bunch of lying politicians anyhow.
New York City has been through the coldest June in a long, long time. I haven't seen the Sun for three days. But we are having global warming, you understand. We are going to have cap and trade and get taxes levied on us to pay for all the heat we cause. I don't think I will pay mine. To hell with the cap and trade guys. They are mostly mental cripples anyhow.

Who wants to listen to a bunch of lying politicians anyhow.
